Crackdown on Illegal Mining continues in Doda District

Doda, August 28: In a significant crackdown on illegal mining activities, the District Mining Officer (DMO) of Doda, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Shri Vishesh Mahajan, successfully seized 2 vehicles involved in illigal mining activities in Karara area & 2 vehicles in Thathri area of sub-division Thathri of district Doda. This operation was conducted under the strict instructions of SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom, who initiated the effort to combat illegal mining across the district.
The joint operation, orchestrated by District Mineral Officer Shri Sunil Kumar Manhas, and with the cooperation of SHO Thathri Amit Katoch, resulted in the seizure of two vehicles involved in illegal mining activity in the Karara area and two more vehicles in the Thathri area of the Thathri sub-division of District Doda. The entire seizure operation was meticulously executed in accordance with the laws outlined in the Mineral Act.
This decisive action against illegal mining marks a significant step towards preserving the region’s natural resources and upholding the rule of law. The collaborative efforts of the District Mining Officer, District Administration, District police, and other law enforcement agencies demonstrate a commitment of curbing illegal mining activities and promoting responsible resource management in the Doda district.
