DODA POLICE WORKED OUT ANOTHER FAKE ACCIDENT CASE, FATHER SON AMONG 3 ARRESTED, STOLEN ITEMS WORTH 11 LAKH RECOVERED

Doda, 08 August: In a statement issued by Doda Police, said that it has arrested (1) persons namely (1) Shamim Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed (2) Bashir Ahmed son of Ghulam Nabi both resident of Droundi, Bhalla and (3) Ashiq Ali son of Khair Din resident of Trown Bhalla District Doda, for deceiving and cheating their employer and managed fake accident of vehicle (Jaunga)
Police swung into action after the receipt of an information on 20.07.2023, ut Police Station Thathri that a vehicle (launga) bearing registration No. JK02CH 6504 on its way towards Kishtwar met with an accident near Shibnote Prem Nagar and plunged into river Chenab. Upon this, a Police team rushed towards the spot and found that driver of the said vehicle had managed to save himself and escaped from the spot. The vehicle was lying in the river Chenab. On preliminary enquiry the vehicle in question was said to be used for carrying goods like, food items, cosmetics, garments hardware sanitary items etc.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 75/2023 under relevant sections of IPC was registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation of the case set into motion. During investigation Police found one mobile phone from the spot. On technical analysis of the mobile phone some suspicion surfaced about the movement of driver of the vehicle. The mobile phone found registered in the name of one Ashiq Ali son of Khair Din resident of Trown, Bhalla, Doda. On enquiry he revealed that the mobile number was registered in his name but it was being used by his brother in- law namely Shamim Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Bhalla District. Doda who was driving the vehicle at the time of its accident. On questioning the driver confessed that he was driver of the vehicle which belongs to one Sunil Kumar son of Bansi Lal resident of Nai Basti Jammu and was tasked to transport the goods from Jammu for delivery in Kishtwar. He further revealed that he with criminal intention and in connivance with his associates Ashiq Ali and Bashir Ahmed, made the plan and some goods unloaded from vehicle and dumped at different places in Trown, Pranoo area of Bhalla and thereafter went towards Kishtwar road. On reaching near Shibnote Prem Nagar they deliberately threw the vehicle into river Chenab in order to deceive his employer so that they could make money after selling the stolen goods. The driver also revealed that in order to make the site of the accident look like a real accident he threw some goods into river Chenab but the majority of the loaded material was taken to other places and dumped there. On the disclosure of the accused driver, Police raided at different places and recovered the goods worth approx 11 lakh dumped by the driver with the connivance of his associates. Many more recoveries are expected from the accused and his associates and investigation of the case is going on

It is pertinent to mention here that on 20.12 2022, a similar incident took place near Gadasoo Doda on NHW-244, in case FIR No, 182/200 US 279,304-A IPC registered at Police Station Bhaderwah in which Doda Police has unearthed a mystery of fake road accident and brought back the couple alongwith daughter from Paunchkola Haryana who were said to have been drowned in River Chenab after their Car plunged into River Chenab near Gadasoo Doda on NHW-244.
