Govt. Should Immediately Withdraw The Order To Impose Property Tax, Otherwise Jammu Bandh Will be Announced
Jammu, February 27 : State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena Vikrant Kapoor has strongly opposed the government’s decision to impose property tax and has demanded that the order should be withdrawn immediately. He said that if this order is not rollback then Hindustan Shiv Sena will start a big movement against it and if necessary, Jammu bandh will also be announced. Terming the property tax as Jizya, he termed it completely anti-people.
Vikrant Kapoor said this while addressing a press conference in Jammu here today. He has strongly criticized the UT administration and the central government for taking anti-people decisions In the absence of an elected government besides imposing property tax in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that after the removal of Article 370 and 35A, new taxes are being imposed on the people of Jammu one after the other.
Expressing serious concern over the anti-people orders being issued by the government Vikrant Kapoor said that due to this, the residents of Jammu and Kashmir are facing a lot of trouble. He said that one or the other anti-people order is being issued by the Lt. Governor’s administration every day due to which the people are suffering. Imposing property tax on the already suffering and financially distressed people of J&K is in no way rational. He said that since the formation of UT, sometimes toll plazas are being set up in Jammu and sometimes mining contracts are being given to outsiders. He warned the LG administration to desist from taking anti-Jammu decisions. He said that if the decision to impose property tax is not withdrawn immediately, Hindustan Shiv Sena will start a big movement against it. He called upon the people to unite to counter the present anti-people policies of the government.
Vikrant Kapoor appealed to the people to unite at all costs to fight against the anti-poor, anti-people and anti-democratic actions of the government. During the press conference senior Hindustan Shiv Sena leaders sunil . Shiv Ram ji Anup Trikha, Baba Ram Kaith, Abhishek, Himanshu, Amit, women’s wing leaders Sapna Kohli, Jyoti Devi and others were also present.
